And So It Begins
Greetings to everyone and thanks for checking out the new and hopefully improved ISRP. It has been a long time since I have put new content on the site so I thought it would be best totally redo this thing as a blog… with all sorts of really good links (including multimedia stuff) and hopefully a good thought or two. I am still trying to figure out all the details on how the WordPress blog thingy works… so please be patient.
For those of you familiar with me… I hope that is a good thing… and for those not familiar, I have been with Steve Shearer and Antipas Ministries since around 1997 or 1998. I moved to California to work with the ministry in early 2000 and was there for the Canada experience from 2004 through November of 2006. Though I have been off-the-radar for some time; I have still very much been a part of things and am one of the few people apparently willing to stand firm with Steve on the hard decisions that the message of Antipas Ministries always bring about.
I live in Washington State and helped Steve and his wife Lucy get their small place here. Over the days, weeks, months, and years to come you will no doubt learn more about me and will also get exposed to some thought provoking information that will supplement the writings of SR Shearer and hopefully move us past the “salon radical” stage, as Steve has so aptly put it… into a willingness to not only recognize what is going on around us, but to take action upon that truth..
To start things off… I want to provide a link to an incredible PBS documentary on the US and World economic system and how we are in our present crisis. The name of the program is The Ascent of Money, and you have to check it out. There are also quite a few good articles out there on the financial crisis. Steve’s latest article is one of them and there is also some really good stuff available from Michael Hudson (of Super Imperialism fame). That last link is to a PDF version of his incredible book of the same name. There will be a test on all this material, so do be sure to read thoroughly.
Just kidding of course… but I really hope people will try and check out the links I offer on this blog. Trust me; you’ll probably get more useful information from them than what I am saying. I also hope that people are seriously paying attention to the things going on in the world today. Our economy sits upon the precipice, Israel and the Palestinians are rapidly pressing toward a situation in which the US is going to have to not only broker, but underwrite a real peace process, and the US and Israel also still have to deal with Iran while the US attempts to bring the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan to an end.
Oh yeah… all this is taking place with a rock star-esque Democratic President that the American Church hates with a passion (Guys like James Dobson)
I guess what I am getting at is that we are headed for one very wild ride that may have prophetic implications sooner… rather than later. That is all for now… peace out…
